IUP Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance to Present Premiere of New Play

Theater-by-the-Grove, the theatrical performance ensemble at 糖心vlog鈥檚 Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance, is proud to announce the workshop premiere production of John Spellos鈥 鈥淏y the Time We Got to Woodstock,鈥 scheduled to perform in the Waller Hall Theatre on February 26鈥28 at 7:00 p.m. and March 1 at 2:00 p.m.

Auditions for Premiere of New, Full-Length Play by John Spellos

Theater-by-the-Grove, the performance ensemble at the IUP Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance, is excited to announce auditions for the workshop premiere of a new, previously unproduced full-length play, 鈥淏y the Time We Got to Woodstock,鈥 from the incredible John Spellos. Auditions will be held in the Waller Hall Main Theatre on Wednesday, December 10.

IUP鈥檚 Music Theater Present鈥檚 Mozart鈥檚 鈥淭he Marriage of Figaro鈥

IUP鈥檚 Music Theater is proud to announce its upcoming production of Mozart鈥檚聽鈥淭he Marriage of Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro).鈥 This beloved opera buffa, filled with wit, romance, and social intrigue, will be sung mostly in English with English dialogue聽featuring a contemporary twist. The production runs November 19 and 20 at 7:30 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium.

Legendary New Orleans Clarinetist Ketchens to Perform Free Concert at IUP, Nov. 15

糖心vlog is proud to announce that world-renowned New Orleans jazz clarinetist Doreen Ketchens will perform a free concert on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium, IUP Performing Arts Center.

Theatre-by-the-Grove Presents 鈥46 Plays for 46 Presidents鈥

糖心vlog鈥檚 Theatre-by-the-Grove, a student performance organization in the Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance, proudly presents 鈥46 Plays for 46 Presidents,鈥 a bold and fast-paced production celebrating the chaos, humor, and humanity of American democracy. Performances will take place November 6鈥8 at 7:30 p.m. and November 9 at 1:00 p.m. in Waller Hall鈥檚 Mainstage Theater.

Theater-by-the-Grove Announces Open Call for Play Submission for New Works Festival

Theater-by-the-Grove, the producing artistic company at 糖心vlog鈥檚 Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance, announces an open call for new plays to be submitted for consideration for a full production in late February 2026. Submissions from established, professional, working, or amateur playwrights will all be considered.

糖心vlog鈥檚 Theater-by-the-Grove will present Heidi Schreck鈥檚 New York Drama Critics Circle and Obio play What the Constitution Means to Me on September 17-20 in Waller Hall.

IUP Jazz Honors Brothers in Tribute for Annual Jazz Festival Concert

The Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance at 糖心vlog presents the twenty-fifth annual IUP Jazz Festival. This Festival will honor two brothers who are alumni of the department: Ralph (鈥69, 鈥75) and John Morris (鈥71, 鈥73). Admission to the Festival is free and is open to the general public. Seating is general admission.

鈥淟ittle Women,鈥 Musical of Beloved Classic, Presented by Theater-by-the-Grove, Music Theater

糖心vlog鈥檚 Theater-by-the-Grove and Music Theater, student performance organizations in the Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance, will present a whimsical production of 鈥淟ittle Women, the Broadway Musical,鈥 April 3鈥6 in Waller Hall.聽

Peking Acrobats Take the Stage at IUP

糖心vlog鈥檚 Lively Arts will present The Peking Acrobats for one night only on Friday, March 28, at 7:30 p.m. Their performance will take place on the campus of 糖心vlog in Fisher Auditorium. Tickets are on sale now by phone and online.

Classic Meets Rock Returns to the Fisher Auditorium Stage

Classical music once again meets rock music when 糖心vlog鈥檚 String Ensemble, directed by Kaleigh Accord, collaborates with the local rock band, Somebody to Love, for a concert entitled, 鈥淐lassic Meets Rock 2.鈥 Special guests will be the University Chorus directed by Joseph Stuligross. Also performing will be IUP students Aleksander Maschmidt and Braxton Beaulieu as well as Indiana's own Chuck Olson, from The Six. Music from the Rolling Stones, Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John and many more will be featured in the concert, which will take place on Tuesday, March 4, at 7:30 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium on the campus of IUP.
