Due to an ongoing Peoples Natural Gas project, traffic delays in the area of Wayne Avenue between Locust Street and Maple Street are continuing, and access to campus via Grant Street and Violi Way is closed.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid the congested construction area.

Construction is active Mondays through Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is not expected to affect IUP commencement on May 10.

Pedestrians can cross Wayne Avenue around the construction site, but drivers should expect delays, including one-lane traffic on Wayne Avenue around the construction site.

Sponsors and organizers of university events being planned during this week and into May should alert event participants and visitors expected for those events about the construction project and encourage the use of alternate routes onto campus.

Students leaving the residence halls for the semester are asked to alert drivers who are coming to campus to assist them in move-out with information about the construction project, and encourage these drivers to use alternate routes to and from campus.

As end-of-semester events are expected to bring visitors unfamiliar with campus to the area, drivers and pedestrians should use caution when traveling around campus, especially in and around the construction area.
